Waiting For an Indian iCon

Quite recently, we mourned the sad demise of iCon Steve Jobs and proved to the world that how efficient we are in admiring the real talent. While, Apple displayed a large image of former CEO of the company over their website's homepage, most of us were busy updating 'RIP Steve Jobs' as our Facebook status.

Well, the man who made an effort (and achieved) to bring browsers to our pockets and change the way we work and enjoy in our lives, deserved this respect. But, what was there in him or with him which made him so enthusiastic that he turned out to be a winner despite of his battle with cancer for so many important years of his life? Maybe, the 'self satisfaction', which may have come to him from the fact that his and his family's future is financially secured for years or for the lifetime.

So, we Indians can be proud of ourselves that we are not far behind when it comes to the comparison of our and westerns' intelligence level but it's only the level of self satisfaction due to which we are unable to produce an iCon or a Facebook, Twitter like success story.

In a population of 100 crores, we can find many creative, intelligent, efficient and enthusiastic individuals who can write their own success story by giving this world an entirely unique element which will be admired for ages throughout the world. But right now, all of them are busy making a fortune, taking a loan to buy a new car, securing their family's future and adding a retirement plan to their financial portfolio.

The ninth largest economy in the world accommodates 100 crore people under its BBB- image. So who cares whether we are born acute or creative, we surely have to chase the future for an assured monthly income of at least Rs.1 lac to avail all the necessities like a home, car and some clubbing. Moving ahead, when we get financially satisfied (between the age of 35 to 45), only then we jump to the next level i.e bigger home, bigger car and more clubbing. By the time we reach at the age (60+) when we want to do something for our own satisfaction and fame, we are about to die and urge for some rest as we end up hurting our back throughout the lifetime to turn money into our backbone.

It's okay, we Indians have a good patience level as we have waited for long to see our country become crime free, less populated, financially stable and also a sure shot winner in sports other than cricket. So we can wait till our own iCon rises to a self satisfaction level and writes an actual success story.
